Harold Camping died Dec. 2013 – do you remember who he was? He was a National Sensation in 2011 [and several times in other years] for his claim that “the Rapture is upon us” and “the End is Nigh.” Needless to say, he was wrong – nothing happened [maybe THAT is why you don't remember him - haha]
From Camping to Robertson to Graham to Falwell, theists have alternately praised the world’s happenings and called for its destruction because it was so ‘full of http://confiancegroup.com/viagra-england evil.’
What was the basis? A book written almost 2,000 years ago, based on stories passed down from hundreds [or thousands?] of years before that! Even the Book says ‘no one knows when the end will come’, but Camping thought he could do what “his own Belief” said could not be done. Wow, the Arrogance of some people.
Regardless of what is on the schedule for the world, CNCAH is pushing ahead with letting people in the epicfilms.com.au Fayetteville area know that Atheists and Humanists are MORAL Beings, hoping to help others NOT based on FEAR of what might happen after we die, but simply because “it is the Right Thing To Do.” Along the way, we will spread our story, and hope that we can enlighten others to the message “We are All Humans, and as such Deserve Equal Treatment” – straight or not, transgender or stylist, Atheist, or a Believer in some Theist ‘god’ sect.
“Do unto Others as You want to http://www.freakouts.com/online-generic-cialis have Done To You” was perhaps the best motto to come out of the many religions – it is the ONLY thing we need to Believe in, the ONLY thing We Need To DO.
Thomas Jefferson WROTE the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom – it was passed by the Virginia Assembly on January 16, 1786. America was Founded on the idea of Religious Freedom, NOT Just ‘as a christian nation’ as so many claim. Yes, he used religious speech in the Document, but it supported the click here cialis for daily use idea that No One should be forced to attend church, to be taxed to support ANY church [even one he attends] [BTW - when you give tax breaks to religious organizations, and so must increase MY taxes to cover the "missing money", you Are Taxing Me].
For the Monument at his grave, he mandated –
“…on the faces of the Obelisk the following inscription, & not a word more:
Here was buried Thomas Jefferson Author of the Declaration of levitra by mail'>levitra by mail American Independence of the Statute of Virginia for religious freedom And Father of the University of Virginia
“because by these,” he explained, “as testimonials that I have lived, I wish most to be remembered.”
It seems that, to Jefferson, These Ideas were more important accomplishments than being President. I hope everyone realizes – or is willing to learn – that “Freedom” includes those who Do Not Believe At All.
With all the various social outlets available on the Internet these days, it sometimes gets to be a chore keeping up with them all. But, it has been some time since our website got some love, so an update is sorely needed. Yes! We’re still here, much to the disappointment of those that prefer we’d just keep quiet and out of sight. Alas, those days are thankfully gone. Humanism, along all other forms of non-supernatural mindsets, are here to stay. Not only here to stay, but here and growing like crazy, and that’s a good thing for everyone.
So what have we been up to? Taking action for one. While believers and subscribers to faith met in their churches to pray for divine action, we actually took action. Earlier this month, we went to the streets, or “our street”, to be more accurate. As part of our goal to increase visibility of admcourt-sh.org non-belief in the community and do something positive that benefits our community at the same time, our group adopted a section of highway, which several times a year we get together to clean-up.
CNCAH Roadside Cleanup
Here’s some of our crew sporting the latest in roadside couture, an eye-catching ensemble of bright orange matched with highly reflective striping. Hey, it’s not meant to be beautiful, but it does serve its functional purpose.
Proceeding at a blistering speed of approximately 1mph, it took us four hours to collect a grand total of ten bags of trash along both sides of where to find cialis'>where to find cialis our 2-mile stretch of road. Not a bad haul, and thankfully, quite a bit short of the record of 27 bags from our very first clean-up. It makes one feel pretty satisfied doing a good days work and making a difference, even if it isn’t world shattering. Still, even a little difference is better than no difference at all. So take the cialis cheap canada call of action, because hoping and wow)) cheap viagra sales wishing for action is a poor substitute for real action.
Don’t believe in the supernatural either? Living in the Fayetteville, NC region and want to meet others like you? Want to join us in taking action? Check us out at Meetup.com or Facebook.
You may remember the reading of the play “8” that CNCAH held last May in the Cameo Theater. If not, you missed an emotionally charged gathering of a diverse group of opencons.net local people who came together to show their support for marriage equality by re-enacting the federal courtroom proceedings which overturned California’s Proposition 8.
Proposition 8 was a ballot vote to amend California’s constitution with a prohibition on gay marriage. Though narrowly passing the vote, Proposition 8 was upheld by the state’s supreme court only to be subsequently struck down in federal court as a violation of due process (ballot) and equal protection (civil rights). After the US Ninth District Appeals Court affirmed the federal court’s decision, proponents of Proposition 8 immediately filed for appeal to the US Supreme Court.
The federal courts refused to release video footage of the court proceedings that led to the overturn of Proposition 8. This motion prevented the public from seeing that the online viagra only evidence presented by the defenders of Proposition 8 was homophobia and religious bigotry; both deemed inadmissible by Judge Walker. In a show of support for gay rights, Dustin Black, writer of cialis and women'>cialis and women the Academy Award winning screenplay “Milk”, scripted the court proceedings into a play licensed for readings across the country. It was this screenplay that members of CNCAH and our allies in marriage equality read to the audience at the Cameo Theater.
As expected, the US Supreme Court decided on Dec 7, 2012 to hear the appeal concerning this controversial decision. Concurrently, the court will hear the challenge to the Defense of Marriage Act which was placed into law in 1996 by President Clinton. With decisions in both cases expected next summer, we have the potential to achieve a momentous and historic advance for human rights in this country. We at CNCAH are proud to show our support for marriage equality and look forward to the Supreme Court’s decisions!

CNCAH has some serious plans to keep up busy for the next few months leading up to the holiday season. We will be kicking things off at the end of September when the President of the American Humanist Association comes to Fort Bragg as part of his book tour. David Niose will be speaking at the Watters Family Life Center on the 22nd at 1:00PM. He will be speaking for an hour before he gets on his busy way to his next engagement that evening down in Wilmington. As soon as we have his itinerary firmed up we hope to be able to engage him either before or after the engagement by treating him to a meal at one of our fine local establishments, yet to be determined. For those not in the know, our Treasurer, Ray, organized the engagement at the Watters Center by working diligently with the Fort Bragg Chaplaincy to gain access to this fine facility.
As soon as we can make coordinations with the proper people we will be sponsoring a few charity drives. The first will culminate at the end of October and directly benefit children who in some way are affected by domestic violence. We will be conducting a stuffed animal drive in order to provide law enforcement officers with a ready supply of the cuddly creatures to hand out to children when they must respond to a domestic violence call and there are children involved. More to follow on this one as we get some points of contacts we can use to give these creatures of levitra oral gel'>levitra oral gel safety to. In the meantime, clean and wash those old, like new condition stuffed animals or find a couple new ones you would like to give to this more than worthy cause.
Our next charity will be a coat drive for the homeless or needy (no need to limit on this one). The seasons are changing, the air is getting colder and Fayetteville has a large population that can use a warm coat. This is one we are also working diligently looking for the right point of contact to make sure the clothes can make it into the hands that need them.
Our next charitable contribution will be a new toy collection to give to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. Fort Bragg has a phenomenal Airborne operation for soldiers each year for which the price of a parachute is a new, unwrapped toy. We will be announcing times for us to collect toys to give to this wonderful charity, so keep it in mind as you begin your holiday shopping. Even if the holidays are way outside of your personal beliefs, the spirit of giving should always extend to the little ones.
Keep an eye out for an announcement on our Meetup page for the Fayetteville Jazz and Zombie walk the only here free levitra last Friday in October. This will be an informal, fun gathering to see and participate in the outlandishness that will ensue down Hay street. So be ready to dress up like you are trying out for The Walking Dead and wow it's great viagra online store have a great time.
These are just a few of the ways we hope to fill the calendar with outreach and some fun activities over the next few months. Come on out and support us and help represent our community in the local community.
